The artist studio two doors down from my own studio was having an opening with fourteen artists displaying their work. Joe Ballweg has only opened up his studio as a pop-up gallery once before in the past year and I was out of town, so considering mapquest told me I'm literally 1 second away I had no reason not to schlep over and see what was going on.
Artist Joe Ballweg in front of his large painting.
Artist Hiroshi Tachibana in his studio showing some of his 20' x 20" pieces.
Artist Andrea Bergart in front of her painting titled YaYaYez.
Artist Allyson L. Smith in front of her piece titled Signsbig.
Artist Brooke Moyse.
Artist Eric Hibit's pieces Par Avion, Grey Buddah, Tiffany Lamp.
Artist Jennifer Sullivan's pieces Portrait, Country Western Shirt Small.
Floor sculpture by Sun You, which was kicked over no fewer than 9 times in 4 hours.
Out back there was a cool projection piece by Red Paper Heart that most people probably missed because it was down a hallway and out the door. If you were to look up and to the right. . .
You would see my studio on the second floor, the four lit up windows in the middle.
Installation artist Mona Kamal.
Artist Erik Spehn.
Hiroshi's studio is in the back and has a much warmer feel to it, maybe it's the furniture.
