WEDDING INCOGNITO 8-9-04
I got to the place the wedding was to be held at and parked the car. I noticed some people hanging around in the parking lot.
I started talking to this cute brunette wearing an amazing dress that showed off her cleavage. She looked to be around 30.
Vern Incognito and his fiance' Charity are Filipino, and about 98% of the people attending the wedding were as well. Myself, this brunette, a couple of white guys and a black guy made up the rest of the guests.
Filipino weddings are really cool, and totally different than any American weddings I've ever been to. They do this cool thing in the ceremony where they take a piece of rope which is connected into one loop, and they twist the loop into an infinity symbol and place it over the man and woman to symbolize that they are joined as one for infinity.
They take a part of the woman's dress and drape it over the man's shoulder to symbolize that they will be both sharing the clothes, like sharing the responsibilities or something.
They are given by the parents' 13 coins, which symbolize the first money they will both share as man and wife. I'm not doing a good job at explaining the ceremony, but it was really neat and chock full of symbolism that American weddings lack.
After the wedding we went to a room to eat, with an open bar. After that the wedding moved to a grand ball room where there was dancing and live music. I was so tired, having gotten drunk the previous night, sobered up, driven for hours, gotten buzzed again, and sobered up.
Getting drunk and sobering up twice in one wake period really fucks with you.
I was so tired I was nodding off during the cake cutting. After the wedding finally ended I got in the car and realized that I was way too tired to drive.
I had seen a park a few blocks away on the ride in. I drove to the park, and I parked. I slept for a few hours on a bench. When I woke up I went back into the car and slept in the passenger seat.
I think nobody hassled me because I was wearing a suit.
When I woke up again it was dark. I felt recouped enough to drive. I slid over and headed for home.
Just another day in the life of an Art Juggernaut.
