FIRST FRIDAY AGAIN 9-3-04

Another trip out to Philly for First Friday. Ran-D and I hit all the galleries. Same as it ever was.

We shot over to city paper and scoped out the place. Let me explain "scoping out the place" in single man's terms. Doing a lap or two around the entire perimeter of a bar, and possibly down the center, just checking out the environment and seeing if there were any "potentials" any "prospects" and where would be the best vantage point for you to stand to see the most, and be seen the most. As a single guy you are constantly on the lookout for single woment who appeal to you physically. Doing "the rounds" as we like to call it is traditionally the first thing I like to do as a single man after entering a bar, mainly to see if the bar is worth staying in, worth investing the time and money to purchase a beer or mixed drink and stay there for the time it would take to drink it. This experience at First Friday was a lot different than LAST TIME , considering now I was single.

I ended up filrting with this girl who would be in the ranking for one of Maxim's hometown hotties if she were to enter.

We soon left there though and went to another bar where there was a dance floor. I saw a girl who was knockout gorgous. We started talking and I found out that she was a singer from California. She had been on American Idol. I talked her into singing for me, and she was really good.

But she was an even better dancer than she was a singer and her mom was aparantly a dancer so she had been taking lessons since she could walk. She rode my leg like crazy for the next few songs. Ran-D and I were splitting out so I swapped spit, got her number and address and e-mail, she told me if I were ever in Cali I'd have a place to crash, very odd.

We ended up as Sugar Mom's again. This time we ran into Ran-D's friend DJ. DJ is a bouncer at a roudy Irish pub in Philly. He's also crazy, in a fun to watch kinda way, he's a riot!

When the bars closed at two DJ took us to an afterhours bar. Something you learn exists when you are in the resturant business, there are afterhours bars that cater to people who work for bars, bartenders, waitresses, bouncers and the like, all get into these afterhours bars that are private clubs legaly allowed to serve alcohol to their members after the state's legal alcolol selling closing time.

this one was called something like "the pencil and ink club" a club that was founded by the editorial and newspaper cartoonists of Philladelphia. I realized that if I lived in Philly, this place would probably be one of my hang outs.

We weren't in there for 10 minutes when all the hottest bartender chicks from Philly came in. DJ knew the hottest chicks and they were at our table flirting it up in no time.

We were truly the mac dads at this joint. After a bit we grew tired and I was really too drunk to function. We drove home. Half way there I made Ran-D pull over so I could blow chunks on the side of an old mill.

Just another day in the life of an Art Juggernaut.
