CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEARS 1-3-03
I hope you had a good little holiday break, I sure did. It's kind of surreal to be left to your own devices on a week day without clients calling. I found myself watching a lot of movies and dvd's*. I also spent time going to many, many family gatherings and parties (both my family in Jersey, and JEN's in Long Island) and basically relaxing.
*(I recommend the Lord of the Rings, Fellowship of the Ring box set- and in theaters, the second part : The Two Towers. I also recommend the Back to the Future dvd trilogy)
I also have to apologize to everyone for not sending out "physical" Christmas cards this year. I actually printed up a shitload of them but got bogged down with deadlines right before Christmas break and never got to mailing them out. That's why I decided to e-mail it to all of you instead. He's a bad mother fucker- I'M TALKING ABOUT FROSTY!
ABOUT THE HOLIDAYS:
Insane Christmas party at the parent's house in Jersey this year. It's finally happened. The party that used to be 95 percent, my hippie parent's friends, 5 percent, the kids' friends, has evolved over the years into what it is today, 95 percent the kids' friends, 5 percent, my parent's friends.
My siblings are both going to colleges in Jersey (My younger brother BRETT, and kid sister Ace), so all their friends from high school and college are within driving distance from my parent's house. It's simple math: Free food plus Free Booze plus college kids= Animal House (without the togas) . I gotta say hi to all the kids from Jersey who treated me like Pony from the movie subUrbia coming home to visit.
I drunk a lot of eggnog, and a lot of booze.
On new years I hadn't made any plans, I was just going to relax with Jen, but last minute some of my high school friends called wanting to do something so I invited them to trek over from Jersey for a little Champaign, Corona, lounging, and celebration. They all piled into one car and took the long trip here. I have to thank all of them for making it out here, with a detour to pick up this other girl Gabriel it took them 5 hours-damn.
After the ball dropped the bulk of us drunkenly wandered down to the snow and sand beaches of the lake (Lake Ronkonkoma, Long Island) to watch some fireworks. We played drunkenly in the dark on the deserted playground equipment.
Just another day in the life of an Art Juggernaut.
